Journey's End (12A)

Century Cinema Presents:

Journey's End (12A)

Set in a dugout in Aisne in 1918, it is the story of a group of British officers, led by the mentally disintegrating young officer Stanhope, as they await their fate.

Eager new recruit Lt. Raleigh has pulled strings to join his friend Captain Stanhope on the frontline but he finds that Stanhope, damaged and disturbed by the war, is no longer the childhood here he once knew.

Directed by Saul Dibb, with superb ensemble cast headed by Sam Claflin (Stanhope), Asa Butterfield (Raleigh), Paul Bettany, Tom Sturridge, Toby Jones & Stephen Graham.

The film is preceded by a free talk on how the Coalville area commemorated its losses and the people who built the Clock Tower and other memorials.
