A veteran civil servant receives a medical diagnosis that inspires him to move to the south coast and cram some fun into his remaining days. He meets a sunny young female colleague who seems to have the pep that had previously escaped him.
This beautifully made British film has received two OSCAR nominations, for Best Leading Actor (Bill Nighy) & Best Adapted Screenplay (Kazuo Ishiguro). It was also nominated for BAFTA Awards in both these categories along with a third nomination for Outstanding British Film of the Year.
