In that short period our world changed from the greyness of the postwar era to the technicolor of Glam Rock. We broke free from the chains that fettered our parents and grandparents and those of us still here to tell the tale knew things would never be the same again!
Our grand kids will never really understand just how daring we were and how many revolutions we started…fashion (hoop skirts to boob tubes), humour ( Arthur Askey to Monty Python) and of course the music which is still grudgingly accepted as still the best ever! Lonnie Donnigan, Cliff, Elvis, Englebert, Sinatra, Billy Fury, Phil and Don, The Big O, and of course the most exciting bands!
In a world where there does not seem to be much to look forward to… thank goodness we have so much to look back at!
